Visual Editor for new languages [message #617356]

I am evaluating VE to use in our product as the screen editing component.
It needs to have similar behavior to the SWT editor but not generate java
code and must work with non-java projects. I would like to reuse the
framework as much as possible but I have gotten to the point where I am
questioning this approach. Was the VE intended for this type of
customization? Is there a better approach to the solution? Thanks for
any insight.
