Renamed vars and VE no longer "sees" them [message #614786] Wed, 15 November 2006 22:10

I added a number of widgets to the SWT Composite based class I was
creating. After a while I decided that I did not like the prefix I had
used on their variable names. So, I went to the text editing pane and
did a Find+Replace. Once I did that, the widgets I had renamed no longer
showed up in the Java Beans tree view. The widgets are displayed in the
visual pane but I cannot click on them. I appears part of VE has lost
knowledge of them. I tried renaming the variables back to their original
name but without success. I closed VE and reopened the file. I stopped
and restarted Eclipse. I cleaned just the project containing the visual
class file. I cleaned all projects. None of this has worked. So, I am
left with a file that I can no longer visually edit because VE no longer
sees some of the widgets.

How can I get VE synced back up with the file.

Windows XP SP2
Eclipse SDK, Version: 3.2.1, Build id: M20060921-0945
Visual Editor, Version: 1.2.1.v20060817_M-zXJUB0fxM-0vSdc,
Build id: 200606280938

Thanks,
Mike Higginbotham
