Would it be possible to post some type of screens and interaction diagrams
between the SOAN and Service creation to help better visualize what STP is trying
to do in this regard?

Subject: [stp-newsgroup] Presenting multiple aspects of a SOA Network.
Hi all,
Last week I got a chance to attend the launch of Microsoft's VS2005,
SQLServer 2005 and Biztalk 2006 products. What I saw was their approach
to SOA network tooling (although SOA is not specifically their message)
and I was quite impressed. There could be some lessons for this group,
especially in the SOAN deployment sub-project, in what that particular
company have done.
When you sit down to build a SOA, it is visualized in three separate
diagrams. The first is a logical view of the SOA participants and their
relationships with each other. This view is aimed squarely at the
individuals who are architecting the SOA. There's no clutter, just a
selection of boxes interconnected. The second is a deployment view of
the SOAN. It contains a visualization of the available deployment
resources (i.e. containers) as well as a means to construct logical
groupings of containers (i.e. hosts) that share particular policies
(such as using a firewall). There is tooling support for performing
the act of binding from the logical diagram to the deployment diagram.
The third diagram is geared to testing - I don't have much information
on that one, since I was busy scribbling down details about the first
two :)
Obviously a verbal description is not adequate - I've put in a request
for screenshots of the tooling and will share once I get hold of them.
