Data Tools Project,

What currently being implemented for the Data Tools Project?

I realise what gets rolled out all depends on the companies and people
steering and implementing code but I would be interested in what is
actually being implemented, and will be available in the next few months.

Background:
I am evaluating eclipse for use on a database project a considerable part
of which is the rendering of different databases within a user interface.

I have looked at Eclipse SQLExplorer plugin
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=132863 &package_id=148199
described in:
http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2005/05/11/sqlexplorer.ht ml

[The SQLExplorer plugin is LGPL there is also a commercial plugin
DataScope under http://aftiplugins.com/datascope/index.html]

Which demonstrates what can be done.

Is the Data Tools Project working on those lines, and what is likely to be
available in the near future (i.e. in the next 6 months)?

I have read details of the Data Tools Project positioning but it does not
make clear about what is actually being implemented.

Thank you for your time,

Turloch O'Tierney
