The Technology PMC is not intended as a replacement for, or competition
with, SourceForge and similar sites. That is, it is not a catch-all place
to hold everyone's great ideas for extending or improving Eclipse . It IS
intended to provide a home within Eclipse for researchers and educators, as
well "incubator projects" which implement ideas borrowed from the research
community in Eclipse (like the AspectJ plugin from the AJDT project).
If you have ideas for new Technology projects, post them here. Once we see
that a critical mass of interest is growing around any idea, we will create
a specialized newsgroup to host that discussion, and provide a forum to
develop a project proposal, round up people interested in doing the work,
etc. The Technology PMC will work actively to help any group which wants to
get a new project up and running.
