Hi Michael and team,

Currently there doesn't seem to be auto layout support in Graphiti. Using the JPA entity editor as an example, when user opens the entity editor and decides to show all existing entities in the diagram, most of the entities are stacked on top of each other and it takes considerable amount of effort to re-replace the entity nodes in the diagram.

Would you consider supporting auto layout in the future?

Thanks!

Shenxue

Hi Shenxue,

although Graphiti itself comes without an autolayout mechamisn, it is open
to use any existing ones. There is for example an auto layout mechanism
provided by GEF that you could very easily use. Please see our FAQ for a
short docu how to use that:

Shenxue,

the KIELER Project is an open source automatic layout infrastructure for
Eclipse. It is currently interfaced with GMF, but we are working on a
Graphiti integration.

Have a look at our project website for details and at recent
publications linked there.

Hauke,

That's great! Please keep us informed about your progress in integrating KIELER with Graphiti. I'm sure many users will benefit from it.
