The Principal Engineer will be a key member of the team designing and
developing tools on the Eclipse platform for building sophisticated speech
recognition applications. Speech applications have unique development
challenges that overwhelm existing IDEs. Voxify’s IDE uses an innovative
conversation modeling approach to coordinate and automate development
activities throughout the speech application lifecycle. Responsibilities
include the design and implementation of Eclipse plug-ins for the IDE,
covering areas such as the GUI, automation functions, resource management,
and configuration management. The role demands extensive experience in
Eclipse-based IDE development, expert OO programming skills, technical
creativity and resourcefulness. The position provides the opportunity to
contribute to the foundation of a groundbreaking software product.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of enterprise software experience
• Track record of developing commercial Eclipse plugins
• Experience in developing a full IDE on Eclipse, including the data and
resource models
• Deep knowledge of Eclipse graphical frameworks: SWT, JFace, GEF
• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Expert Java design and development knowledge

Desired Background

• Experience with human factor design
• Good understanding of web application development lifecycle
• Familiarity with speech application development lifecycle
