I noticed that the plugin rap.equinox.registry is not included in the current rap release...
Does that mean that I do not have to include that plugin in my war product anymore?

you don't need the registry anymore. Please see the new and noteworthy
for more detailed information: http://eclipse.org/rap/noteworthy/1.3/
