XML Templates not working [message #546646] Tue, 13 July 2010 16:06 Go to next message

I migrated a workspace from Eclipse 3.5 to Eclipse 3.6.

Unfortunately my self-defined XML templates are not working anymore.

I still see the templates under Preferences -> XML -> XML Files -> Editor -> Templates. Automatically insert is flagged for the templates.

The editor I'm using is XMLMultiPageEditorPart.

If I switch back to Eclipse 3.5 Ctrl+Space shows my templates while Eclipse 3.6 does not show them.

Any advice?

Best regards, Lars

Hi Lars,

It looks like there is a bug with the XML template computer that doesn't account for templates in the "All XML" context. As a workaround for now, you might be able to refine the context of your templates so that you'll get your templates back by picking something like "XML Tag".

I've opened up https://bugs.eclipse.org/319771 to track this.

Hi Nick,

cool. Thanks for the workaround, the bug report and the patch in the bug report.

Best regards, Lars
