I would like to ask, whether there exists general recommendations
how to realize continuous development of target platform plug-ins
within this target platform.
Consider that you produce several RCP applications given some
target platform which again contains Eclipse plug-ins and your
own plug-ins. Is it OK to develop a target platform plug-in
against the *same* target platform where this plug-in is part of?
If so: Which plugin will be used during an RCP launch from
the Eclipse IDE?
If not so (which I assume), what is the recommended procedure
to both develop the target platform plugins and test them within
an RCP app, which uses the to-be-developed plug-in as part of
a target platform?
I ask, because we would like to develop RCP applications where
the typical UI developer does not need to check out all client
plug-ins' but most of these should be part of the target platform.
This again increases the risk that this developer has sometimes
to modify plug-ins that are part of the platform and (s)he would
like to test the changed plug-in immediately.
I would appreciate any hints and suggestions.
Thanks & Greetings from Bremen
