Hi.

With Eclipse 3.6M7 it was pretty easy to install CDO from the Helios main repository. With RC1 and RC2 I always get a conflict when installing CDO together with the EMF SDK.

Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: EMF - Eclipse Modeling Framework SDK 2.6.0.v20100517-1331 (org.eclipse.emf.sdk.feature.group 2.6.0.v20100517-1331)
Only one of the following can be installed at once:
EMF Mapping 2.5.0.v20100427-1455 (org.eclipse.emf.mapping 2.5.0.v20100427-1455)
EMF Mapping 2.6.0.v20100511-1645 (org.eclipse.emf.mapping 2.6.0.v20100511-1645)
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: EMF Mapping UI 2.6.0.v20100427-1455 (org.eclipse.emf.mapping.ui 2.6.0.v20100427-1455)
To: bundle org.eclipse.emf.mapping [2.5.0,2.6.0)
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: EMF - Eclipse Modeling Framework SDK 2.6.0.v20100517-1331 (org.eclipse.emf.sdk.feature.group 2.6.0.v20100517-1331)
To: org.eclipse.emf.mapping [2.6.0,2.7.0)
Cannot satisfy dependency:

Oh, it doesn't seem to have to do something with CDO. It also happens when trying to install the EMF SDK on it's own.

Kai,

there was a mail on the Mailinglist yesterday with the exact same error.

Ken Hussey answered it as follows:

HTH.

Happy Pentecost.

Cheers,
Stefan

Yes, unfortunately we published successive builds with problematic
version range dependencies, which are computed by the build. When we
build against x.y.z.qualifier, we normally want to produce a range of
[x.y.0,x+1.0.0, but we published a build with no bounds, then a build
with [x.y.0,x.y+1.0), and most recently with [x.y.z.qualifier,x+1.0.0).
This recent one was particularly atrocious. Our RC2 build, which is
already published, gets us back to what we normally produced over the
past years. Sorry for the hassles.
