Hi all,
i have installed RAP (Eclipse Rich Ajax Platform SDK) from http://download.eclipse.org/rt/rap/1.2/update following this how-to: http://www.eclipse.org/rap/gettingstarted.php
Now i would create first HelloWorld application following this how-to: http://www.thescreencast.com/2007/10/first-look-at-eclipse-r ich-ajax.html

The problem is that in Eclipse plug-ins, i haven't org.eclipse.rap.demo, but i have only this:
org.eclipse.rap.help
org.eclipse.rap.ui.intro
org.eclipse.rap.ui.launch
org.eclipse.rap.templates

Why eclipse software manager haven't installed also org.eclipse.rap.demo ?

I have this version of Eclipse
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
Build id: 20100218-1602

Thanks so much!

Hi Marco,

you have installed the RAP tooling. Next step is to set the target
platform. The RAP tooling can do that for you: Help -> Welcome ->
Overview -> Rich Ajax Platform -> Install Target Platform.

After you'll have org.eclipse.rap.demo in your target. To import the
project go File -> Import -> Plug-ins and Fragments -> check Import as:
"Projects with source folders".

Hope this helps,
Ralf

PS: If you have no good reason to use 1.2, consider getting the latest
RAP from http://download.eclipse.org/rt/rap/1.3/tooling

I see. In this case I guess that the RAP welcome page will be hidden in
some submenu. If you can't find it, you can also install the target
manually as explained in
http://www.eclipse.org/rap/downloads/runtime-install.php

Regards, Ralf

Thanks Ralf, now i have installed target with success. I think that i have only another problem, i have imported "Projects with source folders" (org.eclipse.rap.demo) from plug-ins, but clicking on plugin.xml i haven't "Launch a RAP Application", but only Launch an Eclipse application and Launch an Eclipse application in Debug Mode.

Sure you have the RAP Tooling installed? Help -> About Eclipse ... ->
Installation Details should list the RAP Tooling.

If you open the launch configurations dialog (Run -> Run Configurations
....), you should find an item named "RAP Applications" in the left area.
This item should include the launch configs from the demo project. Does
this work?
