I've recently started using Eclipse and I have a question about Eclipse's auto-complete functionality. Can Eclipse auto-complete xml entries, for example in Netbeans 6.8 when I add/edit a pom.xml Netbeans' auto-complete will provide "options" for <groupId>, <artifactId>, etc. Does eclipse provide this type of auto-complete functionality?

Hello Dan,

The "standard" XML editor does not support auto completion against XML
schemata. It comes as plug-in from the WST (web standard tools) project
which is probably installed in your eclipse instance.

Nevertheless you can use XML editors with auto completion. For example:
http://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/rinzo-xml-editor
Installation instructions as well as other XML editors can be found on
this site.

Please note that there is a special newsgroup for eclipse newbies:
eclipse.newcomer
Use that newsgroup to get quick answers. This group discusses SWT
(graphical toolkit for eclipse) questions.

Kind regards,

Steffen
