Eclipse 3.5 and TPTP 4.6.2 are installed, I want to profile an application in weblogic but in the servers window, the "start the server in profiling mode" button is disabled, how can I find out why? Do I need to run the standalone agent locally and connect to it, I thought that was not needed anymore for local profiling...

I'm inclined to think this is a defect, is nobody else profiling weblogic apps with tptp, who's got this working?

Hi Paul,

WebLogic support does not implement WTP profiling support, and hence the WebLogic profile will have to be done manually. You will need to specify the profiler's JVM arguments manually in the Weblogic configuration files. I am not specifically familiar with Weblogic configuration, however, here is a general presentation/tutorial on how to do so with Tomcat:

The principles are the same: locate the environment variables/configuration files used to specify the JVM arguments for which Weblogic runs, insert the required TPTP JVMTI profiler JVM arguments, set the appropriate environment variables, and then attach using 'Attach to Agent' from inside Eclipse.
