Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu [message #531172] Tue, 04 May 2010 00:04 Go to next message

I have installed Eclipse on Ubunu by Ubuntu Software Center.
But just can't find a way to either create a new Web Project or Add a new Server or importing a war file.
Everything works fine on Windows but how to setup in Ubuntu ?

You'll probably get a more up-to-date version if you just download and
install directly from the Eclipse download page. Be sure to read the link
from that page on how to install and run; in particular, be sure to get a
Sun JVM, not the default gcj JVM that comes with Ubuntu.

You might be missing functionality due to having the wrong JVM; or, you
might have not installed the web features. If you install from the download
page, you should install the "Eclipse for JEE" package. If you've already
got an Eclipse install, you can add features by going into Help -> Install
Software.

The eclipse.newcomers forum is a better place for discussions like this, for
future reference.

Hope that helps!
