How do I share task contexts with another user [message #521514] Wed, 17 March 2010 17:00 Go to next message

I'm creating tasks associated with Jira Bugs and I want another user to be able to load the context I've established, i.e. I want to be able to hand a task off to another person and have them see the set of files I had open and so on.

I don't see an obvious way to do this.
Import/Export of tasks does not seem to bring the mylyn context with it.

The content info seems to live in the .metadata/.mylyn/contents directory. Do I want to share these files somehow?

Thanks.

The pop-up menu for the task (right-click) contains the "Context" menu.
Here is the entry "Attach..." which attaches the current context to the task.
Another person opening the task can use "Retrieve..." from this menu or from the JIRA attachments
section. If this person opens the JIRA task the first time, then it has no local Mylyn context and
is automatically prompted to load a context from the JIRA attachments. You can even save several
context and switch back and forth by retrieve/attach.

With the Export / Import you may distribute all your local task and queries which may be a bit more
than you want to..
