Hi

I tried to use the Feature-based self-hosting like described in the
"Tips and Tricks" of the PDE Guide.

I was wundering, why I had to import all prebuild plugins as binary
projects. My product includes the whole eclipse IDE, this implies that I
have to import all eclipse plugins as binary projects.

Isn't there a way, to specify a (target) location witch contains all
prebuild plugins and features?

Any ideas?

Regards, Alain.

To address this only we are doing 'Feature based launching'
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=284885) for 3.6 M6 which comes out in a month from
now. It should have come out in yesterday's nightly build (N20100220-2000) in case you want to have
a quick taste of it. This shall reduce some of your pain.

This is part of the scheme to make the features first class citizens in target definition
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=284882).
