Brand new to Eclipse and quite new to java, so please forgive me.

I would like to build a standalone client app which connects with a database. Later I may port this same app to a mobile device, but for now, I'd just like to figure out where to start as far as a UI goes.

Firstly, does this qualify as an RCP app? If so, from the few tutorials I have read, I begin development of this app as a pugin - is that correct?

Lastly, can someone recommend a visual design tool/plugin to get me going with the design of the UI?

Any help much appreciated.
