Hi there
It appears to me that the TOC feature of BIRT is not usable for the following needs; maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong:
We need a TOC feature similar as in the common text processors (e.g. MS Word):
- Mark some sections/headings as relevant for the TOC
- place a section at the beginning of the document that lists those headings including the appropriate page numbers
- the document will only be rendered as PDF
How can we implement this?

Roland,
I know there is a bug logged for this:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=132895
As a work around you may want to look at using iText on the generated
output report.
