Switching between visible docked editors [message #508271] Mon, 18 January 2010 03:43
Eclipse UserFriend
Among the open file tabs, I drag one of them to the side of the Eclipse window and dock it. Now I have two sources in front of me side by side. Let's call these "source panes".

Is it possible to assign a hotkey to switch between these source panes? Next-previous editor switches among all open source files, which are all the tabs these two panes have. I don't want that. I want to press a button and switch between these two visible source panes in front of me. I don't want it to go to the other open source files that are not visible.

So, if I drag-docked only one source file to the side, I have two source panes. I want a hotkey to switch between these two source panes and these two source panes only. Is this capability there in Eclipse right now? If not, should I submit a bug report for this to be implemented?

Thanks for reading, I hope I was able to communicate what I meant.
