How do I move JIRA tasks to be subtasks of local tasks? [message #496642] |

While using Mylyn, I'm finding that I create a local task for a task I need to work on, and this task exists for a long time as I continue to work on the task. Over time, JIRA tasks are created for issues related to my local task (mostly by other people). Unless I take some action, my local tasks is listed in the list of tasks separate from the JIRA tasks that are related to it. I'd like to somehow make these JIRA tasks subtasks of my local task, or something else that would "group" all of these tasks together.
I see the notion of "Categories". Is this the only option I have for organizing this? Would I create a new category, named exactly the same as my local task, and then group the related JIRA tasks in that category?
It seems like a "subtask" notion is more logical, but I don't know any way to "move" an existing task to become a subtask of another task.

Hi David,
I am afraid creating a specific category is the only option at the moment.
Sub-Tasks are always specific to a given repository and not all repos do support them.
But cross-linking is not supported AFAIK. Maybe it is worth a feature request.
Cheers, Jörg
