Take a look at these examples:
http://www.birt-exchange.org/devshare/designing-birt-reports /1084-page-script-samples/#description

One of the examples resets a page variable that is displayed in the
header everytime you do a master page swap. Look at the onPageStart
script for both master pages.

Hi jason

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
Although i think the example is not completely correct (at least with Birt 2.5.1) it enabled me to solve my problem.

Once again many thanks
Carlos B.

Hi Jason

I have only tested the pagebymasterpage.rptdesign.
I think the pagination numbers are wrong.
This is what i've got:

pageMaster 1 - pag.nbr=0 -> should be 1

pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=1
pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=1 -> its repetead
pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=2
pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=3
pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=4
pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=5
pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=6
pageMaster 2 - pag.nbr=7

pageMaster 1 - pag.nbr=8 -> should be 1 or 2 (it depends of your goal)

I hope i could helped you
