Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to use CDO as my persistence layer in generated EMF.Editors.

The generation tools for enhanced CDO editors have not worked for me under the latest version of Eclipse (The operation is not available).

Is there a recommendation on how to tie the .Editor code and CDO persistence together? Is using the generated editors at all advised?

Any resources or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh,

CDO is currently working on a sub-component called Dawn which will
provide common Tools for CDO based UIs (and other fancy stuff). See this
link (http://mftech.org/dawn/) if you want to learn about what soon will
be possible with CDO.

Currently Dawn’s GMF-Editor support will be re-implemented. In parallel
we are going to integrate other EMF-based Editors, too.

So soon(er or later) CDO will provide the integration for the .Editor
plug-ins out-of-the-box.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Josh,

Why are you generating editors for your models? Maybe this blog helps
you find the answer:
http://thegordian.blogspot.com/2009/09/emf-tips-3-why-should -i-want-to.html

I think in many cases usage of a generic editor (or the generic CDO
editor in particular) would better do the job.

Cheers
/Eike
