OSEE 0.8.3 application server & PostgreSQL [message #495024] Tue, 03 November 2009 09:55 Go to next message

I have downloaded the new 0.8.3 application server and client and am able to run both. I am using the same connection.xml as I was using for 0.7.0.

The client connects to the application server, but I then get an exception when the first read is attempted from the database.

The problem is that the class org.postgresql.driver is not found.

I thought that this was just that the PostgreSQL driver was missing from the server. I added org.postgresql.driver_8.3.0.200902191228.jar to the plugins folder and org.postgresql.driver_8.3.0.200902191228.jar@start after org.mortbay.jetty.util@start in config.ini. However, I'm still getting the error.

What else do I need to change please?

Mark,

You are correct that the PostgreSQL driver is not included in the eclipse.org client or server build. Derby is the only database connector that is included due to intellectual property restrictions. The plugin org.eclipse.osee.framework.postgresql was defined to have an optional dependency on the PostgreSQL driver, but that seems to Intermittently cause a problem. We will create a separate add-on PostgreSQL feature. I'll reply back with more details shortly.

Thanks,
Ryan

The OSEE Application Server with the PostgreSQL driver included can be downloaded from the external add-on site at http://osee.microdoc.com/node/2.

Thanks,
Ryan
