Hi all,

does anyone have an idea, whether GMF can be used to create a RIA
application, to draw diagrams within a browser? I'm not familiar with
GMF and RAP in practice, but theoretically. But i'm curious whether RAP
will provide such drawing functionality...

Thanks a lot for any answer

Timothy

this has been discussed before. For further details search this
newsgroup for "Draw2D" and/or "GEF". A prototype was presented here:

Thanks Rüdiger, for the link, but it is still one year ago since the
feasibility study was presented. Are there any further work to support
Draw2D/GEF (and as a consequent GMF) since April 2008?

Hi Timothy,

did you find the thread "GEF with RAP" from April 2009 ?

The folks from Architexa have taken some ideas from our prototype and e4 and have created another one. It adds support for GEF (our's only has draw2d). See here:
http://www.architexa.com/labs/gef

In any case both of these approaches are prototypes that require further work. It is up to the community to step up and get involved.

Also, if anybody is seriously interested in sponsoring further development, please contact me at: elias AT eclipsesource.com

Kind regards,
Elias.
