text editing key bindings not working in wiki editor contained in task editor [message #487183] Tue, 22 September 2009 07:17 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
hi,

i was wondering why the wiki editor contained in the task editor does not use the key bindings for contexts
  • Text Editing
  • wiki text markup source context
or if i'm doing smth. wrong.

they seem to work when editing wiki pages (e.g. a .mediawiki file) but not in the task editor.

CASE
b/c i use a lapptop with a DEL key in an inconvenient position i bound ctrl+d to 'delete next' like it is common for *nix systems.

while i'm at it:

i just noticed that the outline view doesnt outline the wiki content, which is a shame as i document a lot in the tasks and an outline would help me to navigate more quickly

Yes, that would be a useful enhancement. Please consider voting for this
bug:

261370: [api][editor] extensions should be able to contribute to the task
editor outline

I believe the contexts that are active in the task editor are "Task Editor"
and "WikiText Markup Source Context".

if that were true the key binding should work, right?
and if it doesn't, as i noticed, it is either a bug or i do smth. wrong.

so could you tell me which?
BTW: i had tried binding the DEL command in both contexts to no avail.
