[ATL] Producing a non-conforming model... (a bug?) [message #480223] Fri, 14 August 2009 12:48 Go to next message

Hello List:

Yesterday I found a bug in my transformation: I was producing a model that
was not conforming to the metamodel.

How is this possible? I assumed that ATL would give me a warning or even
an error if one of my rules violates the metamodel !?!

What should the correct ATL behavior be?

Today I crafted a small example that illustrates the scenario where this
happens. I can send a ZIP-file with the metamodel, a model and an ATL that
produce this.

Thanks in advance!

I guess the answer is that ATL will create an invalid model and it is up
to me to validate the model, either from Eclipse IDE or programmatically.
