In the plugin org.eclipse.uml2.uml.resources, the XMI IDs of all
elements in the *.uml files are based on their names.

I would like to have the same for my metamodel that is specified in UML.
Is there a tool to create IDs in this form?

Thanks,
Lutz

Hi Lutz,

I believe you want something like UML2Util.getXMIIdentifier().
From your xmi resource you can call .setID() with the result of that
previously mentioned function.

Cheers,

- James.

Thank! I see that this is used in the convert to metamodel action of the
editor. That's what I've been looking for.
