how do i get net4j? [message #48198] Thu, 31 August 2006 19:50 Go to next message

I'm using the update manager site found at
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/emft/updates/site-int erim.xml, and
when I select "org.eclipse.net4j.sdk", it says that it declares a dependency
on "org.eclipse.net4j" which it can't find. I've tried the "Select Required"
button as well as installing "org.eclipse.net4j" first, but nothing seems to
work.

I looked at org.eclipse.net4j, and apparently there is no org.eclipse.net4j
plugin- just the feature. Does the sdk declare a dependency on a plugin or a
feature? Is it possible to declare a dependency on a feature? How do I get
this up and running?

Thanks all-
Liam Morley

Liam,

I suspect that this build does not have proper Update Manager jars.
This issue should be solved for the 1.0.0 release.

In the meantime I suggest to install from successfull nightly builds:
http://emft.eclipse.org/technology/emft/downloads/?proj=net4 j&showAll=&sortBy=
http://emft.eclipse.org/technology/emft/downloads/?proj=cdo& amp;showAll=&sortBy=

Sorry for this inconvenience.

Cheers
/Eike

The latest Net4j 0.7.0 solves this problem. Additional details here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=158241

Oh, and since this is a release build, you'll want this UM site URL
instead of the interim one:
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/emft/updates/site.xml
