Hi Tatiana,

first of all thanks for your contribution, such things motivate me to
give a little of my time. So here´ s my comment:

I am one of the persons who might stumble upon this page, so I did read
it. I just have one suggestion concerning the Section "Can I restore a
diagram from a semantic model (*.uml) file"

People may not be aware of the background technology (the UML2
Component) - and get confused by this. When someone searches for UML
modeling support he/she probably will want to draw diagrams, I mean:

A default user will not think: Hey, they have implemented the UML2
metamodel! Let´ s create some instances and visualize them as a diagram.

This is the approach that the section I refer to makes, one could also
call it the "bottom-up approach". This is something for users who are
aware of the emf-based technology that´ s used in the tools project -
and it´ s okay that this entry is there.

This is what a default user probably thinks: Cool Eclipse now has UML2
support. Let´ s draw a class diagram! Eventually people will then notice
what´s actually going on in the background when they draw their
diagrams. They eventually check out that there is something like a uml
metamodel etc, i.e. they will learn something new.

My suggestion is to provide a similar section that takes this "top down
approach" and explains the relations between diagrams and models - or at
least give some pointers to further information.

Thank you for updating the wiki. Maybe I can work on such a description
later.

Hello Felix,

Thanks for your time. I appreciate it. I added two more questions, they touch
the 'top-bottom' approach. Their answers contain the links to UML2 and GMF
wikis. Our wiki is much better now, isn't it?

Best wishes,
Tatiana.
