Using activity parameter nodes [message #469304] Fri, 23 February 2007 15:09 Go to next message

Hi

I'm interested in building models using the activity diagram tool, but I
can't seem to find the activity parameter nodes? Does anyone know how
one could use parameter nodes in this tool? Maybe it's just not implemented
yet.

Thanks!

Regards,
- Magnus

Hello Magnus,

Initial support of the APN was added right before M5 (see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=171439).
It is not feature rich now, that is, all you can do with it on diagram is
to create APN and setup its name -- for any other things you still need to
use property sheet.
I would kindly appreciate any thoughts/bugzillas about more deep support
for this feature.

Also I have to note that in order to support it we have completely changed
the relation between notation and semantic elements for ActivityD.
That is, prior to M5 all activity diagrams displayed the contents of Activity
itself, with actions and control nodes as top-level elements.
In order to show bordered APNs we changed mappings in M5 to show packages
as diagram canvases with activities as top-level elements and activity nodes
as deep children.
In near future you may expect the addition of the "Show full screen" action
that will expand selected activity to cover full diagram canvas.

Regards,
Michael
