Configuration scope problems [message #467045]

Hello everybody!
I am experiencing some problems with The Eclipse preference API in my RCP
application.

The method
new ConfigurationScope().getNode(Application.PLUGIN_ID); always returns
null instead of returning the root Preferences node for my Application, so
I am not able to save any preferences. Does anybody know what could be
causing this problem?
