adding new jars to the classpath [message #459557] Wed, 10 August 2005 15:36 Go to next message

In my UI I have set up a wizard such that the user must chose to connect
to 1 of 2 application servers. Based on the user selection, I have to add
application server specific jars to the classpath. These are bundled in
my plugins /lib directory. What is the best way of doing this? Modifying
plugin.xml? Loading the appropriate jars with a ClassLoader? Thanks.

Add jars to JVM's /lib/ext directory. You can include jar files inside your
deplyment jar file. In your program, check existence of jar file in your
/lib/ext directory. If not add jar files to the directory.

Due to security protection, classloader methods don't work!

Hope this will help.
