Hi,

is there any standardized way of adding a list of recent files to the
file-menu (like in Eclipse itself)?

If you still want to use the standardized way:

You should use
org.eclipse.ui.workbench.ContributionItemFactory.REOPEN_EDIT ORS.create(window)
(from the org.eclipse.ui.workbench plugin), and add this to your menu.
