3.2 delta pack does not contain Solaris Motif [message #453410] Fri, 28 July 2006 15:34 Go to next message

I am attempting to export my rcp application from a windows machine to a
number of different distros. The linux / windows exports work great,
however when I try to export as a Solaris Motif app, I get a number of
errors in the build.

The type org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display cannot be resolved. It is
indirectly referenced from required .class files

I get a number of other complaints relating to the swt packages and
classes missing.

I noticed (after installing the delta pack for 3.2) there is no plugin
for solaris.motif, the closest is org.eclipse.swt.gtk.solaris.sparc

Was support for Motif removed? Or is there another plugin I can use?

I believe support for SWT is still available, but it was removed from
the binary builds from 3.2. It can still be built from the Source Build
for any given release.

There is a bug open against Eclipse Releng explaining why it was removed.
