Would it be an idea to have the "Execute SQL" context menu become part of
the "Run" toolbar button. As a Java developer I tend to go to the "Run"
button in the toolbar to re-execute the last thing I ran (e.g. Java
program, unit tests, server, etc.). With my SQL scripts I tend to do this
whenever I made a mistake in my script, only to realize that I have to
right click and execute the SQL on the file in the navigator instead,
which is somewhat inconsistent imho.

I did a quick scan of the groups and bugzilla and could not find anything
related to this. Dunno know if I'm a dupe... Obviously this is a minor
issue, but if this is regarded as something that can add value to DTP, I
can add a bugzilla enhancement request if you like. Let me know what you
think!

Cheers,

There's a Data Tools launch configuration which allows you to run ad-hoc sql
statements, but I don't think that's the feature you want, because it won't
pick up any changes you made to the sql in your file. So I guess you're
requesting some kind of "Run SQL file" launch configuration, right? Sounds
like a good idea, please go ahead and add a BZ entry. Thanks!
