i have seen some kind of "image tips" in eclipse wizard's (like when you
focus Package textbox in eclipse's new class wizard). AFAIK they're
provided by org.eclipse.jface.contentassist.
in .net framework i think they have a feature called "validators", which
displays a visual cue if some rule associated with the visual component
(text, combo, ...) is broken. i think it also displays a text tip when we
pass the mouse over the image.
i think this a nice feature and maybe eclipse could provided it too...
