Custom Category misbehavior across plugins [message #44367] Wed, 17 October 2007 21:03 Go to next message

I've defined as set of custom categories in a separate plugin B to be
applied to elements of plugin A. When I select B.CC from element A.x, a
reference to B.CC is created within A and applied to A.x. But the
Category doesn't appear properly in the preview, because A.CC doesn't
have the right Display name.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

Hello Rob.
I am not sure I follow. Do you use any variability amongst the categories?
Does the category's presentation name not appear in the preview? What when
you publish? Does the name not show up as well?

Peter.

I'm not using any variability - the EPFC is creating the reference
without any action on my part other that Add...ing a Custom Category from
a referenced plugin. This alone creates the local copy of the selected CC
and establishes a Contributes relationship. But the local copy doesn't
have the "Publish this Category" attribute set. If I set it, I still have
to fill in the Display Name in order for it to appear properly in the
Preview.

Hello Rob.
The Preview tab does not resolve variability relationships (because the
method element editors are not linked to any configuration). It therefore
does not show you the complete picture in this case. You need to use the
Browsing Perspective to see variability relationships being resolved.

Best regards,
Peter.
