Automated GUI-Tests: Abbot? The Eclipse Test Framework? [message #436004] Mon, 29 August 2005 15:00

What is the recommended way to perform automated GUI-test on an RCP
application?

iŽve found "Abbot" and "The Eclipse Test Framework" which is used to test
Eclipse itself. Unfortunately i havenŽt found a documentation and/or
complete examples how "The Eclipse Test Framework" can be used.

I need to know how to automatically (in JUnit-Test) start the application,
open views and access controls in them.
Any hints?

QuickTest would be nice, but doesnŽt support SWT yet, so itŽs not possible
to access tree- or table-controls (labels and text-fields do work).

Best regards,
Oliver
