Dear NG,

I have an issue when persisting a model file on disc. If I close and
then try to re-open the file (in the generated editor) I get an:

"org.eclipse.emf.ecore.xmi.FeatureNotFoundException: Feature 'B' not
found. (platform:/resource/MyModel/Testing.A, 3, 65)"

These are the steps to reproduce:
1.) Create an ECore model "B" within a namespace "NS_B" with several
attributes, including required once (1:1 relation).
2.) Create an ECore model "A" within a namespace "NS_A" with an
Attribute list (EList finally) of type "B" (0..n relation)
--> Notice you have two ecore models, but one final model "A".
3.) Generate the editor code for "B" and "A".
4.) Run the sample editor created for "A"
5.) Create a model instance "A" and at least a child of "B".
6.) Set attributes of "A.B"
7.) Persist the file
--> Notice that the persisted XML file looks like that (simplified):
<NS_A:A xmlns:A="NS_A" xmlns:B="NS_B">
<NS_A:A>
<A:attr>oops</A:attr>
<NS_B:B/>
</NS_A:A>
</NS_A:A>
8.) Now delete all childs "B".
9.) Persist the file
--> Notice that the persisted XML file looks like that:
<NS_A:A xmlns:A="NS_A" xmlns:B="NS_B">
<NS_A:A NS_B:B="">
<A:attr>oops</A:attr>
</NS_A:A>
</NS_A:A>
10.) Close and try to re-open the file
--> Error!

In fact the attribute NS_B:B="" is totally wrong! Why is an empty string
created there?

Any hints? Am I doing something wrong?

The generator model of "B" should be used as reference when creating the
generator model for "A".

I have attached an example generated editor (including ecore files etc.
as Eclipse projects).

Morten,

I've not run the example, but I noticed that CHILDTYPE.instanceB is
unsettable. Probably you don't really want that and no doubt that's
what causes this problem, i.e., and empty list that's consider set,
needs to be serialized; in XMI, that's done by serializing an attribute
with an empty string but in pure conforming XML, it's not possible to
represent this state.
