Hi,

The dropins method of deploying plugins is so flaky it does not work on
two of my Eclipse installs. Only works sometime son my 3rd installation
of Eclipse. The only way I can install a new release is to install a
fresh Eclipse in a new location, re install all my plugins via Update
sites and then deploy the Teneo plugin via dropins. This only works the
first time, thereafter will never work. Upon reading quite a lot about
how immature p2 is I do not see that route being fixed anytime soon.
Clearly with the regular releases of Teneo this installation procedure
gets really tedious and is time consuming.

So any chance o making them available from an Update site?

Thx.

David

Hi David,
The following update sites are available:
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/updates/interim/
and
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/updates/releases/

Did you try those?

gr. Martin

Hi,

I had tried this previously and the interim releases where not complete
or not represented.

I need 1217 release and it only has an empty directory and one entry for
Persistance examples for this release. Pretty sure it does not filter
based on what you already have installed. Because given the failure of
dropins to work I am not sure what state eclipse is in with regard to
what it thinks is installed. Although the Teneo plugins do not show in
the "Plugin Details" dialog.

Thx.

David

Hi,

Looks like it was Equinox that was the issue. I did a fresh install then
used the interim update site, magically all of the 1217 Teneo interim
release was listed. So unless you added them in the last hour or so the
previous Eclipse install thought they were installed and that is maybe
why it did not pick them up from the dropins dir. But I am pretty sure
it should have listed then on the Update site, even if it though they
were installed.

Main thing is though that I can now actually do some real work using
Teneo instead of wasting my time wrestling with the immature parts of
Eclipse, i.e. p2.

Thx.

David
