Hi,

I'm sure that this information is posted somewhere in a friendly link that
I am too blind to see.

Where can I find an archive of the older posts to the eclipse.tools.emf
newsgroup? I'm looking for a thread from earlier this year.

Thanks,

Richard

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Richard,

The search box on the archive page is very useful for searching within
just the one newsgroup.

Hi,

Yes, I have been attempting to use the search. However, I'm not recalling
enough keywords to successfully bring up the post using the search engine.
I'm hoping to find a way to search older posts using a date since I
roughly know when it was posted.

Richard,

Note that there are two different search boxes. The lower one marked
"search this group" should return only results in the newsgroup itself.

Richard,

Maybe you are looking for this one; which goes from today all way back to
2002:

http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.tools.emf/thre ads.html

Ed,

Google search can answer such questions extremely quickly ;-)

Hi Richard

Actually sometimes I find the search boxes rather buggy. Thus for a long
time even though I made a number of posts searching for garyt produced
very few hits. Also try looking for bugday and you will get no results but
then have a look at this recent post
http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.tools.emf/msg3 3231.html and
voila its there... In the end I resorted to taking the whole lot offline
via thunderbird to get good quality searching...

for access via thunderbird have a look at
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/newsgroup-mailing-list.p hp (you will
need your password) for access offlien have alook here
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/docs/misc/SearchingNewsg roups/SearchingNewsgroupsMozilla.html
(these links all spring from
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/newsgroup-mailing-list.p hp

regards
gary

Gary,

Yes, that's what I use too. I love Thunderbird. I have it hooked up to
my gmail account using IMAP and I added the calendar extensions to it so
that I have my various calendars all hooked up too. I highly recommend it.

I always use a Google site-specific-search to find old posts from the
newsgroups. For example, here is a search for posts to the EMF newsgroup
that contain my name:
site:dev.eclipse.org "eclipse.tools.emf" rizzo

Hope this helps,
Eric
