Hello!

It seems, since at least EMF 2.4M7, that when having a model open
for edition in the Sample Ecore Model Editor and renaming its resource in
another view, such as the Java Package Explorer, weird behaviour occurs,
error messages are displayed and the editors become hung-up, they lose
their name, their contents, the cross where to close them... Hopefully,
the contents is not erased from persistence.

This has been reproduced in both Linux and Windows boxes. This does not
happen with .java files. That's why we suspect it is an EMF issue. Has
anybody else experience similar problems recently?

Cheers!

The issue is less systematic than we previously thought. On one part it
seems that it only happens with .ecore files, or models that contain Ecore
instances. On the other hand, the three computers in which weird behaviour
has occurred have the UMLX plugins downloaded as projects in the
workspace. I'm not claiming that it is UMLX fault or blaming anybody for
this, of course! It's just that there are many commonalities and
factors that may be at play here. So any hints would be really appreciated
at this point. ;)

Best regards!

Victor

Victor,

For me the editor just closes... Probably I need more detailed steps...

Hello again!

For those who may be interested, Víctor Roldán has finally identified how
to systematically reproduce the problem, for which bug #235797 has been
open.

Cheers!

Victor,

Thanks for carefully outlining the simple steps so that we can have this
fixed in time for the Ganymede release!
