Structured source editor not available [message #41373] Fri, 03 September 2004 23:18 Go to next message

Hi,

I installed ibm.zip and other required plug-ins as mentioed in the "Getting
Started" guide. When I start eclipse, I do not see the "Structure Source
Editor" tab in the preferences dialog. Do I need to enable any options to
use SSE. How can I find out if SSE is installed?

Thanks
Anand

I'm facing exactly the same problem. In fact, I'm newbie to eclipse and
j2ee. Does anyone know if there's any resources on developing (hello
worlds-style is ok) and deploying a jsp app to a REMOTE j2ee server?

As suggested by another poster, there are some editor specific preferences
under Preferences/Workbench/Editors/Structured Text Editor.
Also, see the "Web and XML Files" for preferences related to specific
content types (which, in theory, would be independent of any specific
editor,
though I think in current versions of code, there's still some "mix"
of preferences.

I've used the commercial ($30/year) J2EE myEclipseIDE extension to do so.

documented in this thread

Hi,

The problem was I had also installed MyEclipse. When I re-installed eclipse
and ibm.zip (without myeclipse), SSE works.
