It's quite annoying to lose a group's history. I know it's in the
archive, but who will ever find anything at an obsolete archive? With
your copious resource and spare time, it would be awfully nice to be
able to rename a newsgroup... :-P

The old archive is available at:

http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/newsLists/news.eclipse.techno logy.eclipselink/maillist.html

I believe this is the only history lost in a move.

Doug,

If you use Thunderbird to to read the newsgroup, the new newsgroup looks
empty and the older newsgroup is no longer accessible, even just for
reading. It seems unlikely anyone will know about the older archive to
search it. So the history is all but completely lost (other than an
archive that no one will find) which seems unfortunate. For a
newsgroup such as EMF, losing 6 years of history consisting of tens of
thousands and questions and answers isn't really an appealing choice...

I'll continue to watch the evolution of EclipseLink with great interest!
