Hi Folks,

Since the eclipse infrastructure now allows us to host our projects in a
Subversion repository, I've been looking at the possibility of migrating over
to SVN for our source code management. To that extent, I've written a short
wiki proposal outlining what would be involved in us moving over [1]. I don't
think there's any great risk involved in the switch over but I've tried to
cover who would be impacted and what changes would need to be made. I'm
throwing it out to mail alias now for discussion, and we can chat about it in
more detail on Thursday morning's call.

I was also hoping to change over our build system to use Buckminster (as it
has very powerful dependency management, which we really need in STP) but I
have only had limited success with it. So I will defer on this proposal as I
iron out the problems I'm seeing with Buckminster. So this migration proposal
limits itself to migration to SVN, and an overview of the changes to the build
system that is required.

No dates or plans are in place for this right now, it's just a proposal. If
there are no significant blockers to migration, I'll set the wheels in motion
and make sure everybody has enough time to prepare.

Regards,
Adrian.

Adrian,

this certainly will help a lot.

Thanks for taking care of it!
