Hello! :-)
Got a new problem. I designed my reports with the preview locale set to
German. With this setting the seperator for each group of three zeros ist
a . (for example 1.000.000). When the Reports are run by an application on
a english notes - client, all the points turn into commas(-->1,000,000).

Is there a way to enforce sticking to the number format i choose during
design?

Patrick,

Is passing a locale to the viewer an option?
If so just use __locale=de_DE

You may be able to call a Java formatter class as well.

Is it possible to set a permanent local for a report via designer? If yes,
how can this be done?

Patrick,

For BIRT 2.5 you can set a specific locale in the design for currencies
dates and strings.
It will be released at the end of the month.
