As we know, mr. Ivar Jacobson intoroduced "Essential Unified Process"
( http://www.ivarjacobson.com/html/content/publication_1_1.htm l) month ago,
and told that EUP will be part of EPF.
I am wondering is Basic Unified Process same thing as EUP or it will be two
independent processes?

We have been working on the ideas underlying EssUP for more than a year
now and we had already agreed to deliver EssUP on the Microsoft platform
(Visual Studio Team System). So naturally we were excited when IBM
announced the EPF project because we have similar goals.

Our intention is to contribute whatever we can to the EPF project to make
EssUp and BUP as similar as possible, as we believe this is what is best
for customers. The other EPF committers have been supportive of our ideas,
but of course we have more freedom with the Microsoft version because we
are developing that on our own.

It has been 'years' by now since the EssUP for EPF notes.

Are there either some manifestations of it or some plans to finally bring EssUP to EPF?

I saw Ivar Jacobson's team produced another app in the meantime which they make available for free.

EssUP evolved to become the ESSENCE / SEMAT initiative.
Despite efforts from EPF advocates for a common process standard, SEMAT opted to create a separate OMG standard to support some new ideas.

At this time there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in merging the two standards.
