V1.2RC1 not available via feature update? [message #35310] Mon, 03 May 2004 10:59 Go to next message

Hi,
I just noticed that there is now V1.2 release candidate 1 available on
the eclipse website. However, when I just wanted to trigger an update
(I currently have V1.1.8 installed) via the eclipse update manager
(Help => Software updates => Search for updates of currently installed
features) nothing new was reported nor anything offered for upgrade.

In Window => Preferences => Install/Update => Valid updates I have
selected "compatible", so I would have thought that an update from
1.1.8 to 1.2 should be flagged as available (actually, I even would
have expected that such an upgrade would be reported automagically
since I also have "Automatically find ... and notify me" enabled to
check for new versions everytime when eclipse starts, but nothing of
that sort was brought to my attention...).

Am I doing something wrong? Has V1.2. to be installed differently,
i.e. will it not be offered via the prior feature update mechanism? Or
has the download URL changed or what else am I missing here?

Michael

Correct me if I am wrong, but v1.2rc1 of AspectJ has been released and
not v1.2rc1 of AJDT (the plugin for eclipse). So, I am guessing that
there will be no update available via the update site.

AFAIK
AJDT 1.1.7 already uses AJ 1.2RC1, so should 1.1.8

Ooops, stupid me, I hadn't noticed the difference. Sorry for the
noise!
