Oracle recently inquired about Java usage and they asked us to contact vendors for the following.

1. Does the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers have Java JRE bundled with the installer? If so, which version in included?
2. Also if Java JRE is inlcuded, does Eclipse have a paid license with Oracle for the usage of it.

The answer to the first question is easy to find in the copies of the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers that you are surely already using.

It's an answer that invalidates the second question.

While true, you haven't experienced an audit from Oracle. They won't accept what we find and only an official answer from an employee. So yeah, it's fun times

Already been through this for other software unfortunately

Oracle is on Eclipse Board of Directors and is very well aware that Eclipse redistributes JDKs via

https://adoptium.net/

You can read the license details at that site.

The IDE's simply uses JREs repackaged (via jlink) of the Adoptium JDKs as produced by JustJ

https://eclipse.dev/justj/?page=documentation

Oracle's Board representative is also aware of this fact.

You might suggest to the auditors to contact Jim Wright for details:
